Aegis software is to be used in manufacturing large-scale LED display systems. Established in 1968, our customer Daktronics is a world-leading designer and manufacturer of LED electronic scoreboards, programmable display systems and large screen video displays; these include both standard display products and custom-designed and integrated systems. Daktronics has now invested in a pilot Aegis FactoryLogix NPI/MES system, initially deployed across the surface mount production area within their Brookings, SD headquarters facility.
Daktronics chose Aegis to meet their requirements for efficient, structured and repeatable NPI processing, together with offline programming for ASM SiPlace Pro placement equipment. Electronic documentation with step-by-step tasks and activities for operators was also required. Additionally, the company wanted to eliminate custom functionality within ERP systems used for defect collection and repair processes, while implementing structured repair loops and route enforcement.
Daktronics chose Aegis to meet their requirements for efficient, structured and repeatable NPI processing, together with offline programming for ASM SiPlace Pro placement equipment.
Production licensing for validation and verification of tooling, consumables and processes throughout the overall process is included. Additionally, Daktronics is looking for an improved reaction time, with a long-term goal of continuous process improvement through real-time visibility of quality and WIP metrics.
As well as production licensing, the package supplied by Aegis covers NPI licensing and training, including an ASM offline programming module, and analytics licensing for reporting purposes. On-site production control software deployment will also be provided, together with remote installation of the FactoryLogix database.
