Accutron Inc. is a contract manufacturer of printed circuit board assemblies from prototype to production. With ISO, TÜV, Medical and Aerospace certifications, the company serves the Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Nuclear and other similarly demanding markets.
For the last 12 years, Accutron has successfully been using an Aegis V7 MES system for data collection, WIP tracking and paperless work instructions. Based on this experience, the company decided to upgrade to FactoryLogix to gain its primary benefits of flexible process routing, CTO management and streamlined NPI capabilities.
In Quality and Test, the software will allow test, defect tracking and collection, and repair to be handled electronically through the Aegis browser.
For NPI, the single FactoryLogix application will be utilized to perform a more efficient development process, with easier handling of Work Instruction Development for final assembly. FactoryLogix’ licensing will allow more users to access the system concurrently. In Quality and Test, the software will allow test, defect tracking and collection, and repair to be handled electronically through the Aegis browser. This browser will be enhanced by Accutron’s intelligent use of circuit board ECAD images.
Work instructions will be delivered using intelligent paperless documentation; this includes revision-controlled manufacturing assembly instructions (MAIs) that leverage the products’ ECAD data. The Aegis WIP Tracking and Manufacturing Execution functions electronically enforce product travel, ensuring that the proper routing sequence is followed through the inspection and test areas – including out-of-route steps such as repair and rework.
Aegis’ standard chart and report templates and real-time dashboards will be used to provide visibility to key performance indicators, with no additional product training needed.
