PHILADELPHIA, PA – Aegis Industrial Software Corporation, the leader in Manufacturing Information Management Systems announced that Computrol, a rapidly expanding EMS based in Meridian, Idaho has selected and deployed Aegis NPI and MES software systems as key tools to not only update their overall electronics manufacturing processes, but as a strategic marketing tool to differentiate the high level of service Computrol offers OEM customers.
Computrol is using the Aegis Checkpoint system for bringing in data on all new customer assemblies. Then they use CircuitCAM to program the assemblies and creating online documentation. They are simultaneously rolling in all data for existing and past assemblies for a complete automated product-to-customer web-centric data archive.
Jon Hanson, Sales and Marketing Manager, Computrol said, "We use Aegis to show our customers how efficiently we electronically process their data, virtually eliminating human error. Aegis takes us from BOM and CAD to machine programs and electronic documentation. It's a huge time and money saver and we pass this faster time, higher accuracy and cost savings on to our customers. We're a low volume, high complexity, high mix EMS company. Aegis MES software allows us to track projects in real time through the entire system. It allows us to make better use of inventory and allows us to leverage materials so we can run a tight, lean manufacturing program with no wasted time or efforts."

Eric Bowen, Manufacturing Engineer noted that the basis of the Aegis system that he appreciates most is the ability to create programs for all their different machines quickly and efficiently. Because CircuitCAM can generate and output programs for all the machines on the production line, regardless of the make or manufacturer, it allows Computrol the flexibility to move programming from plant to plant and from machine to machine within the factory very easily.
Bowen said, "When we were looking for a software provider, I called Fuji to find out who they recommended. Fuji told us to contact Aegis for a fully integrated system with a seamless connection to FUJI's Flexa programming software. From there we called Aegis for a demonstration and saw they had the most to offer when compared to other software solution providers."
