As I mentioned in one of my previous blogs, 2015 closed on the heels of a very successful presence at Productronica in Munich, Germany. As well as enjoying the best event we’ve had in terms of enquiries and interest, I also took part in a number of video interviews, press meetings and some fascinating roundtable debating topics around Industry 4.0, IoM and factory automation.
This year we are back on the road, starting with a flurry of trade shows throughout the world and in various manufacturing industries. Our first two exhibits open on February 9th and find us both in California at MDM-West and at Southern Manufacturing in the UK.
Southern Manufacturing, which is in Farnborough, UK from February 9th to 11th, brings together many industries in the manufacturing space from industrial to electronics and from aerospace to automotive. Aegis will exhibit on stand H61.
Medical Device and Manufacturing (MDM) West is co-located with Automation Technology (ATX) West, Electronics West, Pacific Design and Manufacturing, Pastec West and West Pack at the Anaheim Convention Center, so brings together many industry sectors with an interest in automation, traceability and manufacturing excellence. Our booth number will be 3613.
Our third February event is METAV 2016 in Düsseldorf, from the 23rd to the 27th. As an international showcase for metalworking technologies, METAV offers trade visitors an overview of the market, organized into technological sectors, as broad as railways, aerospace, jewelry and toy manufacturing. You’ll be able to see us in hall 14, on booth A99.
March takes us once more to Las Vegas for IPC APEX from the 15th to the 17th. The show, this year, will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and we’re looking forward to the new venue and sharing FactoryLogix R3 with the electronic manufacturing sector and demonstrating its ability to bring speed, control and visibility to manufacturing operations. Our booth number at APEX is 1163.
In Munich last quarter we unveiled the newest version of FactoryLogix, which embraces the principles of Industry 4.0 and IoM (Internet of Manufacturing) including resource scheduling, configure to order (CTO) and a standardized machine communication technology.
The latest version brings an entirely new logistics module, based around the tried and tested technology of all the other FactoryLogix modules, and replacing the leading solution previously provided within the diplan software suite. Features of the module include: materials receiving and labeling; incoming quality control; material kitting and dispatch; material position tracking; MSD handling and bake management; resource scheduling; material reservation; shop floor materials handling and traceability; part replenishment and reorder. Several parts of the module are entirely new and leverage the capability and experience of diplan developed in this area over more than twenty years.
I was really excited to be able to show these new developments in our software to the market in Munich, and the response was terrific. They bring together all the experience of Aegis and diplan and really deliver on much of the value promised by Industry 4.0 and other smart factory concepts like (IoM) Internet of Manufacturing.
The Aegis team is looking forward to meeting everyone at these.
