Long Experience with Aegis Leads AMETEK to Full-Factory NPI and MES Implementation

After long experience with our CircuitCAM software for NPI requirements, Ametek Reynosa is now extending their Aegis installation to include both NPI and full-factory MES solutions. This decision followed a tour of Variosystems, Southlake, TX where Ametek representatives saw the features and benefits of a full Aegis deployment. This extension will include full NPI functionality and SMT area MES functionality as the first of three phases.
The software will include upgrading from CircuitCAM to Aegis NPI together with standard FactoryLogix Production Core, Analytics and Dashboard licenses.
The extension is to remove dependency on Excel files and other islands of data, improve front-end NPI efficiencies and speed to production while eliminating paper from assembly, defect collection and repair processes. Ametek is also anticipating delivery of product-intelligent, revision-controlled paperless instructions to the production floor. Additionally, the company seeks to improve reaction time and obtain real-time visibility of quality and WIP metrics.
The software will include upgrading from CircuitCAM to Aegis NPI together with standard FactoryLogix Production Core, Analytics and Dashboard licenses. Machine interfaces to Panasonic Data Generation System and SMT POS/SET Placement File Outputs, and xLink Adapters for barcoding and Orbotech AOI will be provided. xTend modules will allow integration of Job and Work Order creation, and export of Product WIP and Material Consumption data. Aegis is performing the software implementation, including remote installation of the FactoryLogix Database.
