FactoryLogix to Bring Improved Data Flexibility and Faster Deployments to Sierra Circuits

Sierra Circuits is a Silicon Valley based, high technology circuit board manufacturer and assembler. They specialize in quick turn PCB assembly with low to medium volume production. They currently ask their customers to deliver their CAD, BOM and related data in a single format; convenient for Sierra but somewhat onerous for their customers. Accordingly, they require the flexibility to receive customer data in multiple formats while maintaining, improving and accelerating their quick turn advantages.

Sierra expects this project to improve their business by expediting process development and deployment of new customer builds on to the shop floor.

Sierra currently uses paper-based processes extensively for work instructions, tracking and staff administration. They have chosen Aegis FactoryLogix to achieve their required customer BOM and CAD data flexibility as part of a more consistent and efficient engineering development process. This will then be extended to the factory floor with operator validation, paperless work instructions, quality reporting, route control and streamlining of the existing processes.

Sierra expects this project to improve their business by expediting process development and deployment of new customer builds on to the shop floor. To handle the high volume of prototype orders received daily from their customers, Sierra plans to divide the NPI function between their Sunnyvale, CA and India locations.
